LIMITED HARDWARE WARRANTY & RETURN POLICY
1. QUALITY ASSURANCE & REFURBISHMENT STANDARDS
CompuPoint Inc. (“CPI”) supplies reliable, cost effective refurbished IT hardware to customers across Canada and the United States. All equipment processed at our Mississauga facility undergoes R2v3 aligned functional assessment, cosmetic evaluation, and cleaning prior to sale.
Refurbished hardware may show minor cosmetic wear. Cosmetic condition does not affect functional performance.
CPI does not provide repair services, diagnostics, technical support, or installation assistance.
2. WARRANTY COVERAGE & DURATION
CPI provides a Limited Hardware Warranty ranging from 30 days to 1 year, depending on product type, condition grade, and listing details.
Warranty Period
• The warranty period is stated on the product listing, invoice, or order confirmation.
• Coverage begins on the invoice date.
• Replacement units or components do not restart or extend the warranty period.
Product Grades & Typical Warranty Durations
• Grade A (Excellent Condition): Up to 1 Year
• Grade B (Good Condition): Typically 90 Days
• Grade C (Fair Condition): Typically 30 Days
• F3 Tested Units: 30 Days (core functionality verified)
3. WARRANTY COVERAGE SCOPE
This Limited Hardware Warranty covers hardware defects in materials or workmanship under normal use.
This Warranty Does NOT Cover:
• Software, operating systems, drivers, activation issues, malware, viruses
• Batteries, power adapters, toner/ink, and other consumables
• Damage caused by drops, spills, misuse, electrical events, or external causes
• Unauthorized repairs, modifications, or part replacements
• Issues caused by third party accessories or components
• Products with missing or altered serial numbers or CPI tags
• Products not fully paid or subject to payment disputes
• Cosmetic wear such as scratches, dents, or discoloration
• Any issue unrelated to original hardware defects
CPI does not service, diagnose, or repair customer owned equipment.
4. DATA RESPONSIBILITY & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Customers are solely responsible for backing up and removing all personal data prior to returning any product.
CPI does not access, recover, transfer, wipe, or handle customer data.
Data Disclaimer
CPI is not responsible for:
• lost, corrupted, or inaccessible data
• damaged or lost storage media
• disclosure of data remaining on returned devices
Limitation of Liability
CPI’s maximum liability is limited to the original purchase price of the product. CPI is not liable for:
• incidental or consequential damages
• loss of use
• third party claims
• software or data loss
5. WARRANTY EVALUATION & RMA PROCESS
1. Initiating a Warranty Review
Contact CPI at info@compupoint.ca or 416 754 4812 with your invoice number and product serial number.
2. Warranty Eligibility Review
CPI will review the reported issue to determine whether it qualifies as a covered hardware defect.
CPI does not perform remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, or installation assistance.
3. Replacement or Credit
If a covered defect is confirmed, CPI will provide one of the following:
• Replacement unit of similar specifications
• Store credit equal to the current market value
• Refund where applicable
All remedies are at CPI’s discretion.
4. RMA Requirement
An RMA Number must be issued before returning any product. Packages without an RMA may be rejected.
5. Shipping Requirements
• Products must be securely packaged in original or equivalent protective packaging
• Return shipping to CPI must be prepaid and insured
• CPI covers standard ground shipping back to Canadian addresses for approved warranty claims
6. RETURNS & NON WARRANTY EVALUATION FEES
7 Day Return Policy (Non Defective Items)
• Returns must be requested within 7 days of invoice date
• A 15% restocking fee applies
• Original shipping charges are non refundable
• Products must be returned in the same condition with all accessories included
• RMA approval is required
Non Warranty Evaluation Fees
Products returned with:
• user inflicted damage
• unauthorized modifications
• no defect found
…may be subject to evaluation and handling fees and return freight charges.
CPI does not perform repairs or diagnostics on non warranty items.
7. GOVERNING LAW & STATUTORY RIGHTS
This policy is governed by the laws of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada.
For consumer transactions covered by the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, statutory implied conditions and warranties apply as required by law. Nothing in this policy restricts non waivable consumer rights.
